Propane Grill

Propane Grill – Ranging in sizes from small, single steak cookers, up to large, industrial sized, they are the perfect choice if you are looking for great taste and ease of use.

A propane grill is designed to use LP gas but it is possible to convert it to natural gas.

The burner is usually ignited by pressing the built in igniter. Just turn on the gas, press the igniter, and you have instant heat. You can be ready to cook in minutes on a propane grill. This is one of the major benefits of a propane grill over other types. Charcoal can take 30 to 40 minutes and wood can take longer to get ready.

The propane grill has made recent advancements and one such advancement is the infrared burner. When the propane grill is ignited, it heats a ceramic tile causing it to emit an infrared radiation that cooks the food. The benefit of this method is that the heat is uniformly distributed across the cooking surface and flare-ups are greatly reduced.

Another type of propane grill is the flattop cooker. With this type of propane grill you cook on a griddle-like surface so the food is not exposed to an open flame.

If you crave that smoky flavor, you can add wood chips. This is done either by adding a small “smoker box” to the propane grill or simply put some wood chips in aluminum foil and place just close enough to the flame to cause the wood chips to smolder. The wood will smoke and add that great taste you are looking for.

Most propane grill components can be replaced with new parts if need be. This will add years of life to your propane grill.

Keeping your propane grill clean is a good idea and is relatively easy as most are designed to disassemble quite easily. Clean the grid after every use and be sure to prevent grease from building up around the burner area. You don’t want to have a grease fire. On that note, it’s a good idea to keep some safety equipment handy, like a fire extinguisher, just in case.

Some other supplies you will likely need are a spatula, tongs, meat thermometer, fork and possibly an apron and gloves for the cook to keep from getting splattered.

Pick a model that is right for you and enjoy the great taste of food cooked on your propane grill.
